Twenty-nineteen. The end of a decade. Where do I start? 2019 was a year of extreme growth for Shannen Arnett Photography. It’s the year I finally found my editing style, started focusing purely on weddings and elopements, and the first time I decided to chase after this crazy dream of running my own business.

In 2019 my business took me to places like Indiana, Schiller Park and German Town in Columbus, Detroit, and Milan (..Ohio!). Not to mention I shot so many incredible couples right here at home in Toledo, Ohio. It was the year I photographed my first solo wedding, which ended up opening the door to so many more opportunities. Another standout was an UNREAL suprise proposal that happened during a lunch at Soma City Church, surrounded by family and friends. I photographed a total of 4 weddings, 2 elopements, a 10 couple sessions (my favveeee) and booked so many more for 2020. WHAT. A. YEAR.

Thinking back through 2019 brings me to actual tears. I am so freakin’ blessed by all the couples who invested in me, people who chose to followed me, amazingly beautiful stories I photographed, ridiculously charming places I visited, and new incredible friends I met. Going through every session, wedding, and elopement I photographed this year and picking out my favorites was rough. This year was the year I really felt like I was creating work I’d always dreamed of. Photos that provoke emotion, told stories, and scream love. There are SO many photos I took this year that I’m so proud to have my name on, and that’s partly why this blog post is a little long.
